The Highland Cemetery consists of 640 acres of developed park land for grave or niche purchases and burials. The address to use in GPS/map apps is 44900 S 348 Rd, Pawnee, OK.
Plat maps of Highland Cemetery are available for public use at City Hall during regular office hours. City Clerk staff will be happy to assist you with simple cemetery records research requests. In-depth or complex cemetery record searches may require a research fee be paid.

Today's burial options allow for burials to be arranged at convenient times for families. Funeral directors are not always required for cemetery burials. Families can arrange and schedule burial arrangements on their own.
Scheduling a Burial
To schedule a burial in the Highland Cemetery, please do the following:
- Call the City Hall during standard operating hours
- Have the statistical information ready (full legal name, birth, death, veteran status, next of kin)
- Know the grave/niche location
- New purchases are ideally made in person but can be done by phone
- Plots can be purchased with cash, check, or money order; we are not able to accept credit/debit cards for plot purchases at this time
- Burials in a grave require the grave, open/close, liner, or polyvault
- Decide on a burial date and time
- Weekdays between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm
- Saturdays between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm (additional fees apply)
- Burials are typically not allowed on Sundays or certain holidays, exceptions can be granted for religious need
- Payment in full must be made prior to the date for burial
All decorations must be removed from graves by 8:00 am on the:
- 1st Monday in February
- 2nd Monday following Easter
- 1st Monday following Memorial Day
- 1st Monday in October
Decorations sitting upon upright monuments and/or their bases and not touching the lawn may be left in place.
Wrought iron basket hangers are not permitted except for the time period of December 15th through January 15th and one week prior to Memorial Day until the first Monday following Memorial Day.
Cemetery Staff retains the right to remove any/all decorations at their discretion.
